GASTON CAPERTON

President, College Board

Gaston Caperton is head of the College Board, the organization that is committed to preparing American high school students for college (and administers the SATs). Ironically, Gaston had dyslexia growing up and spent a large part of his schooling overcoming his disability. Yet, he went on to have a successful career in business and then became the governor of West Virginia, serving two terms before dedicating his career to education. Under his tenure, the College Board has begun operating 22 inner city schools around the country based on a rigorous curriculum developed by the College Board.
